About Us

My journey as an artist began in Peoria, Illinois, where I was born in the late 1950s and grew up with a deep love of nature. My father was from Tennessee and spent much of his childhood hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods. He passed that love of the outdoors on to me. As a child, I learned to raise pigeons, quail, ducks, and other birds, worked with dogs and horses, and spent countless hours observing the natural world. My grandparents were farmers, further connecting me to animals, the land, and rural life. I started drawing at a young age, especially animals. As a teenager, my father and I even operated a small taxidermy business, giving me an early appreciation for anatomy, detail, and preserving the beauty of wildlife. Over the years, my creative journey expanded into photography, graphite and charcoal drawing, watercolor, digital art, airbrush, and wood carving. My photography and artwork have taken me across the country—from Illinois and Wisconsin to Minnesota, Colorado, California, and Lake Tahoe. Every place taught me something new about nature, light, wildlife, and the stories found in the landscape. While living in Estes Park, Colorado, I discovered wood carving and quickly fell in love with the process of turning a piece of wood into something meaningful. In Wisconsin, I returned to drawing and continued growing as an artist. I also served in the United States Army as an electronics repairman, an experience that remains an important part of my life and influences some of my American and veteran-inspired artwork. Today, I create from my home studio in Peoria, Illinois. My work is inspired by wildlife, pets, landscapes, travel, nature, and the experiences that have shaped my life. I create both original artwork and fine-art prints, as well as custom pieces created especially for individuals and families. I believe art should do more than decorate a wall. It should make you feel something. Whether it reminds you of a place you've visited, an animal you've loved, or a moment you'll never forget, I hope my artwork brings a little of the beauty I've discovered along my journey into your home.
